Naomi Giannopoulos, Vegas Nay, the reigning monarch of tutorial-based social media

Businesses are mostly a numbers game. In the age of social media, that number is found in your followers. So which Las Vegas beauty rocks a devoted 7.2 million fans? If Britney Spears came to mind, think again. Holly Madison? Nope. Enter Naomi Giannopoulos, or Vegas Nay, as devoted Instagrammers know her.

Not only has Vegas Nay, an Orange County native who’s called Las Vegas home for a decade now, carved herself a pretty spot among social media celebrities, she’s done so through what was once a niche market of makeup tutorials. She is credited in the makeup industry as one of the first adopters of the photo-sharing app. (Eyebrow goddess Anastasia of Beverly Hills recently shouted out Vegas Nay as an inspiration behind creating her brand’s Instagram account, which currently boasts 7.6 million followers.)

This unexpected success has led to Giannopoulos’ collaborations with national brands, such as her Too Faced Stardust Palette and her own lash line available at Target and Ulta. She has also teamed up with her husband to bring together the brightest minds in the industry for a day of makeup galore known as the Stardust Tour. Last year’s stop at the Cosmopolitan hosted 600 attendees, and she plans for it to return in 2016.

A self-taught makeup artist, Giannopoulos holds a master’s degree in fashion and studied under Roberto Cavalli’s design team in Italy. She met her husband while studying there and eventually he led her to Las Vegas, where the mother of three took on the Vegas Nay moniker and started blogging as a hobby.
