Construction is now underway on Standard & Pour, a partnership between the late Kerry Simon’s Simon Hospitality Group (S.H.G.) and Titan Brands, which operates Hussong’s Cantina and Slice of Vegas Pizza in Mandalay Place.
The new restaurant will occupy the second-story space on Eastern Avenue that was once home to Henderson’s Firefly. S.H.G. president and managing partner Cory Harwell says there will be an “extensive remodel” of the space that will include “opening up walls and realigning dining rooms.” He says the new spot will be a feminine, modern take on a gastropub, with food similar to what the company offers at Carson Kitchen. With décor and ambience, Harwell says, they will attempt to do for gastropubs what STK and Andiron Steak & Sea have done for steakhouses. Key adjectives here include “modern,” “vibrant” and “floral.”
Harwell says this is the final project that he and Chef Simon collaborated on before his former partner’s death. And Titan’s Scott Frost has been integral in the project from its inception. “When Kerry and I partnered, we spoke many times about partnering [with Frost],” Harwell says.
Standard & Pour is expected to open in late July or August. The building’s ground floor gaming bar, The 052, will continue to operate independently.
