There seems to be no stopping Clique Hospitality these days. After more than a year as one of the fastest-growing restaurant and nightclub groups in Las Vegas, the company is preparing to head to San Diego with a trio of new venues.
Clique Hospitality—a partnership between former Light Group CEO Andy Masi, former Light Group executive chef Brian Massie and Light Group alum Shane Monaco—currently operates Hearthstone Kitchen & Cellar, Salute Trattoria Italiana and Libre Mexican Cantina in Red Rock Resort; The Still sports bar in The Mirage; Clique Bar & Lounge in the Cosmopolitan; and both Bottiglia Cucina Enoteca and Borracha Mexican Cantina in Green Valley Ranch.
For its move to California, Clique Hospitality has partnered with Michael Fuerstman of the Pendry San Diego hotel by parent company Montage Hotels & Resorts, which is slated to open in late 2016 in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter. The Clique/Pendry collaboration will encompass three of the hotel’s six dining and entertainment venues.
The first of these will be a restaurant called Lionfish, featuring “modern coastal cuisine highlighting fresh-catch and prime meats.” Jose “JoJo” Ruiz, known for his work at San Diego’s Ironside Fish & Oyster, will serve as the restaurant’s executive chef. And the menu will focus on locally inspired dishes, many of which will be served family style.
The other two venues will be lounges: Oxford Social Club, inspired by “the social clubs of a bygone era” will serve as the hotel’s primary nightlife venue, while The Pool House will be an indoor/outdoor rooftop lounge.
In a statement announcing the partnership, Masi stated, “We are excited to work with the Pendry team and together elevate the restaurant and nightlife experience to a new level.”
