Savor the Date for September’s Special Dining Events

PIZZASeptember delivers a cornucopia of flavors, not mention these not-to-miss culinary affairs that are happening around town. Chef Wolfgang Puck and his Las Vegas culinary team hosts the fourth annual celebrated fundraiser Sip & Savor at 6 p.m. on September 14 at Spago (in the Forum Shops at Caesars, 702-369-6300), benefiting Keep Memory Alive. This mix-and-mingle, wine-and-dine event will give guests the opportunity to indulge in an interactive culinary sampling of signature cuisine of each of Puck’s six Las Vegas restaurants, paired with a number of the chef’s favorite wines. It also serves as a farewell bow to Spago executive chef Eric Klein, who will step into a new, as-yet-unannounced role within the Puck organization. Plus, enjoy the curated musical stylings of Michael Shulman on the turntables. Ticket prices are $150 per person and are available here.

Double Helix (702-473-5415, DoubleHelixWine.com) celebrates its fifth year at Town Square with a five-for-$5 menu. Available daily from 7:30 p.m. till close, choose from five items at $5 each. The offerings include variety of house favorites, such as the popular Grown Up Grilled Cheese, Mamma’s Meatballs, Sunshine Crepes (weekend brunch only), the restaurant’s wine of the month and a whiskey cocktail. And, because Double Helix cares about the local community, a portion of proceeds will also go back to Three Square Food Bank.

Finally, the Valley’s newest food festival, DeCadence (702-558-9366, CadenceNV.com), gathers tasty offerings from Henderson restaurants from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. September 24 at Cadence’s Central Park. The all-ages event features dishes and bites from participating restaurants including Rachel’s Kitchen, Borracha Mexican Cantina, Tucky’s BBQ, Bottiglia Cucina & Enoteca, Hank’s Fine Steaks & Martinis, Emerald Island Restaurant, Café Fiesta, Pasta Cucina, Oyster Bar, Sonoma Cellar, Sonrisa Grill, Amigo’s Mexican Cantina and Essence & Herbs, with a beer tasting by Cocktail City LV. Wristbands for food, beer and wine tasting (for guests 21 years and older) will be available for purchase; RSVP here.
