The highly anticipated arrival of Las Vegas’ own Milk Bar bakery at the tail end of 2016 was the sweetest way to end an otherwise unsavory year. Created by celebrated pastry chef Christina Tosi in 2008, Milk Bar offers traditional desserts but with playful twists. The original Manhattan location quickly gained popularity and eventually led to the opening of an additional seven stores throughout New York City, Washington, D.C., and Toronto. Milk Bar Las Vegas in The Cosmopolitan marks the brand’s first location on the West Coast.
Located on the second floor at the Cosmopolitan, next to sister restaurant Momofuku and The Juice Standard, Las Vegas’ Milk Bar will feature Tosi’s signature creations, including the highly coveted Cereal Milk soft-serve ice cream—which is designed to taste like the sweet milk leftover at the bottom of a bowl of cornflakes—as well as the one-of-a-kind Compost Cookie, a delicious creation packed with pretzels, potato chips, coffee, oats, graham crackers, butterscotch and chocolate chips.
As a special treat, the local store will also offer the exclusive MilkQuake, a decadent soft-serve ice cream blend with various sweet bites available in flavors such as Sweet Potato Pie, B’day Cake and Crack Pie. In true Las Vegas fashion, the bakery’s alcoholic Fancy Shakes are a new addition that is unique to the Cosmopolitan location.
