The six-time Grammy-nominated producer and performer arrived at Caesars this month via helicopter escort, lifting off from McCarran International Airport and touching down outside Omnia to a throng of fans with cameras at the ready. After being presented with a plaque to mark the beginning of his residency, Kaskade took the booth for the first of what will be several performances at the club this year.
By now, Kaskade is used to VIP treatment in Las Vegas, but the Strip flyover was actually the biggest introduction he’s received this year. Hakkasan Group also celebrated Kaskade’s debut at its eponymous MGM Grand nightclub on January 7, and he is scheduled for 10 dates at Omnia and Hakkasan through June.
The new residences add another twist to the ongoing soap opera of Las Vegas nightlife. In an industry always trying to one-up itself, it’s not uncommon to see established names move up and down the Strip.
Kaskade, the world’s eighth highest paid DJ, according to Forbes, spent much of last year spinning at Encore Beach Club and XS before signing with Hakkasan Group for 2017. His next date at Omnia is January 27.
