Enjoy a Primal Feast at Whiskey in the Wilderness

What better way to make a difference in the community than by surrounding yourself with nature, good company and luxury cuisine?

You can do just that at Whiskey in the Wilderness, a charitable affair taking place this Sunday, March 12. The culinary event will feature a menu of fire-cooked dishes prepared by some of the most talented Las Vegas chefs alongside a remarkable whiskey program—all set in a serene, remote location.

“Itʻs not about the Strip or the restaurants,” says chef and organizer Justin Kingsley Hall. “Itʻs about having a great group of people gathering around the campfire and getting to know each other with good food.”

Hall created Whiskey in the Wilderness with Wolfman Events to share prime cookery beyond Las Vegas. Participating chefs include Brian Howard of the forthcoming Sparrow + Wolf, Nicole Brisson of Batali & Bastianich Hospitality Group, Daniel Krohmer of Other Mama and Chris Decker of Metro Pizza, among others, who will prepare a mouthwatering menu featuring vanilla bean-cured hen, duck bone soup, southern pozole, lamb cevapcici and more. (See the full lineup here.)

Among the featured mixologists are Matt Graham and Kinson Lau of Herbs & Rye, along with Keith Baker of the Sand Dollar Lounge.

As its name suggest, Whiskey in the Wilderness will take place at a secret site at Mt. Charleston, where guests will be isolated from the city so they can indulge in the quiet sanctuary of Mother Earth.

“We want people to be in the outdoors and be in the cold,” Hall says. “Because we want them closer to the fires, the chefs and to each other.”

All of the proceeds will be donated to the culinary program at Opportunity Village to flourish Las Vegasʻ culinary trade for future generations.
