Comedy legend Dave Chappelle is one of Hollywood’s greatest enigmas. He slayed the standup circuit with specials such as 2001’s Killin’ Them Softly, gave the world glorious stoner flick Half Baked and became a household name with his critically-acclaimed and endlessly quoted Chappelle’s Show—before famously walking away from the series and a $50 million contract in 2005. He vanished from the spotlight, popping up for the rare standup gig here and there. It wasn’t until last month that he made his triumphant return to the screen with two Netflix specials, with a third in the works.
Chappelle fans rejoiced. He was back in our living room skewering political correctness, lampooning racism and taking self-deprecating jabs at himself. With the release of The Age of Spin: Live at the Hollywood Palladium and Deep in the Heart of Texas: Live at Austin City Limits on March 21 came the speculation—and hope—that he may soon appear at a venue near us.
Now it’s official: Dave Chappelle is coming to Mandalay Bay on May 5. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, April 14 at 10 a.m.—but hold up! We’re giving you a chance to get in on the action right now.
