Seen Around Town: Gronk at XS Las Vegas, Austin Mahone at JEWEL

Celebrities frequent our city around the clock. Here's the most notable visits of the week.

Sometimes, Las Vegas is the only place you can go to clear your head and stop being mad about that Pepsi commercial. It’s also the place where celebrities go for VIP treatment. Don’t be jealous, it’s their reward for being famous. One of many rewards, the others obviously being money and the opportunity to have sex with very attractive people.

On that note, let’s talk about handsome man and New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, who was snapping pics alongside DJ Snake at XS Las Vegas on Friday night. He wasn’t the only star taking in Mr. Snake’s performance, fellow DJ Dillon Francis and Tyson Beckford were also in attendance.

Beckford is in Vegas as part of his Chippendale’s residency at the Rio, and he grew a beard too. We know because he was showing it off on Instagram in a photo with Steve Aoki at Wet Republic on Saturday. It’s crazy because in the pic, Aoki’s the shirtless one. We get it Tyson, we gotta pay to see you take yours off.

Later that night Aoki was headlining at JEWEL Nightclub, where “Mmm Yeah” singer Austin Mahone was celebrating his right to drink legally. For a 21st birthday present, Mahone got to sit in the DJ booth and take in the adoration of the crowd.

Meanwhile, former NHL star (and Team Canada Olympian) Brenden Morrow was in the audience for George Strait’s Saturday night show at T-Mobile Arena. Strait performed 60 of his biggest hits over two nights at the venue.

Really NFL?

And, if you haven’t heard, the NFL has its panties in a wad over the Pro Football Arm Wrestling Championships that took place at the MGM Grand last week. Apparently participating players–a group that included San Francisco 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman, New York Jets cornerback Darryl Roberts and Pittsburgh Steelers linebackers LaMarr Woodley and James Harrison–might have violated the NFL’s gambling policy by appearing at a promotional event inside a casino. You’d think after we willingly handed them three quarters of a billion dollars (so far) for a stadium, they’d get over it.

UFC fighter Paige VanZant guest hosted the event, and later went clubbing with fellow fighters Chad Mendes and Urijah Faber.
