Circle May 3 on your calendar. That’s when Britney’s back on stage at Planet Hollywood. The clock’s ticking and people are going nuts, so if you want a piece of her you better get your tickets before the final show on New Year’s Eve.
This is refreshing. Las Vegas is frequented by so many D-listers clinging to the bottom rung of the showbiz ladder—never come back Heidi and Spencer—it’s a relief when a bona fide legend jets into town.
Sir Paul McCartney stopped by The Mirage on Sunday night to see a performance of The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil. The 74-year-old (although he’s technically immortal) even posed for a photograph with cast and crew. McCartney was just at LOVE last summer, when he and Ringo Starr were at the show’s 10th anniversary event.
We’re told McCartney wasn’t the only star recently seen in the LOVE audience: Academy-Award winner Viola Davis visited the show with family last Friday.
Also, Victoria’s Secret angel Josephine Skriver had herself a 24th birthday in Las Vegas. The Danish beauty made an appearance at Encore Beach Club on Sunday, where she posed on a spinning wheel of hot girls. We don’t know if it has a name, but that’s what it is: a spinning wheel of hot girls. Skriver later took some photos at the Palms pool and Hardwood Suite.
And, get to know the name Gerard Gallant. He’s the first head coach of your Vegas Golden Knights hockey team. Gallant, the former coach of the Florida Panthers, was introduced at a news conference on Thursday. He’ll be a hero in this town if the Golden Knights win the Stanley Cup in the arena that we didn’t have to pay for.
With half the world joining Rihanna, Lady Gaga and other celebs at Coachella, and the other half in movie theaters watching The Fate of the Furious, you’d think it’d be a quiet weekend in Las Vegas.
Not really, turns out the Strip is the preferred place for stars to celebrate #NOCHELLA.
Ex-Jersey Shore cast member and occasional wrestler Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi spent part of Thursday celebrating a friend’s engagement at MGM Grand’s Wet Republic. It was just one stop in a busy week for the bachelorette party, which was sighted at Hakkasan Nightclub, Rio’s Chippendales show, 1OAK Nightclub inside the Mirage and a Backstreet Boys concert at Planet Hollywood.
And it was a late night for Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Samantha Hoopes, who was spotted with friends at a VIP table at TAO Nightclub’s Worship Thursday party.
Fans who showed up for Bastille’s concert at The Chelsea inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas were treated to a little something extra when Imagine Dragons singer (and Las Vegas’ own) Dan Reynolds joined opening act Mondo Cozmo on stage. Reynolds and Cozmo (a.k.a. Josh Ostrander) did a rendition of “Bitter Sweet Symphony,” which is good because it hits multiple age groups. It reminds the older crowd of the Stones; it reminds the younger crowd of the end of Cruel Intentions.
Meanwhile at The Venetian’s Grand Canal Shoppes, chef Mario Batali donned his signature vest and orange crocs to snap pics with fans at Otto Pizzeria. Batali, who was in town filming segments for daytime talk show The Chew, later hosted a dinner for select guests at his B&B Ristorante.
In this weekend’s biggest isn’t-that-sweet moment, we learned that Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter’s brother, Aaron Carter, has fans of his own. He proved it by posing with them at his concert at Flamingo’s GO Pool.
We kid Aaron Carter. In fact, the truth is actually funnier: Aaron Carter is a singer and has a fanbase. Hilarious.
Moving on. With the Vegas Golden Knights taking the ice in the fall, Las Vegas should get used to seeing National Hockey League players around town. LA Kings players Tanner Pearson and Tyler Toffoli were spotted taking in DJ Vice’s performance at The Cosmopolitan’s Marquee Dayclub.
Meanwhile, The Orleans played host to Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend, a nostalgia trip that included a car show, burlesque acts, and dozens of celebrities and musicians. Among the notables, burlesque star and model Dita Von Teese and Cassandra Peterson, the alter ego of legendary horror hostess Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.
Former Pin Up star (and Vegas Seven cover model) Claire Sinclair also took part in the festivities, and was later spotted at Chinatown’s Golden Tiki bar.
Pitch Perfect actress Brittany Snow was also in town, dining with friends at TAO on Saturday night.
And then came Easter, when everyone rose from their beds and hit the pools. Among the star DJ’s making Sunday appearances: Stafford Brothers at Encore Beach Club and Fergie DJ at Wet Republic.
Also, the cops are probably questioning Las Vegan Bryce Harper after he murdered a baseball on Sunday. It was a walk-off three-run home run to give Harper’s Washington Nationals a 6-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies.
Have you ever wanted to tell the Backstreet Boys to their face that *NSYNC was the better boy band? You can do it next week! The Las Vegas headliners are inviting fans to stop by and see them April 20 at 6 p.m. inside Sugar Factory at Fashion Show Mall.
