Fans of classical music and beyond can rejoice, as international sensations Il Divo will be headlining a limited run of shows at The Venetian Las Vegas this fall. It was announced today that the quartet will bring its classical crossover sound to The Venetian Theatre on September 20, 22, 23, 27, 29 and 30.
The group—comprised of Urs Buhler of Switzerland, Carlos Marin of Spain, Sébastien Izambard of France and David Miller from the United States—has unified the world with its musicians’ diverse backgrounds and its distinctive style for over a decade. Il Divo’s seven studio albums have topped charts in over 30 countries, allowing them to tour the globe to spread their sound even farther.
In a press conference in The Venetian Theatre, the four performers were perfectly pressed in complementary suits showcasing how effortlessly they will fit into the ornate venue. “This is like nothing else.” David Miller says while admiring the theater, “I can’t think of another theater in our 15 years that compares to the opulence in here.”
Although each musician represents a different part of the world, they all spoke with ease about their excitement about playing a venue in Las Vegas, as well as getting to know the city’s audiences—and the city itself—on a more personal level. “Like dating a woman you really like … you always want to get to know her better,” Sébastien Izambard says of Las Vegas.
The six-day run will give Il Divo an opportunity to connect with their fans on a more intimate level than they aren’t usually afforded when stopping through while on tour. “I’m hoping our show will allow for a lot of interaction with our audience so we can play around—and let our hair down, as well.”
As for what to expect from the quartet, it seems that there will be no guarantees except the unexpected. “I’m planning on riding in on the chandelier,” Miller quips.
Presale ticket sales, including VIP and meet and greet packages, will kick off on Wednesday, May 3 at 10 a.m. PST. for Il Divo fan club members and American Express card holders. The general on-sale begins Saturday, May 6 at 10 a.m. PST both online and at The Venetian and Palazzo box offices.
