Local Kids Can Learn Hockey From the Vegas Golden Knights

Before the Vegas Golden Knights drop the puck on professional sports in Sin City in October, the team wants to introduce local kids to the game of hockey.

The team is hosting three free Sticks For Kids events over the next few weeks. On May 20, 21 and June 3, kids ages 5-15 can attend hockey clinics around Clark County and receive a free street hockey stick. Kids will learn the fundamentals of shooting, passing and stickhandling from Golden Knights staff members.

There will be four sessions each day starting at 8:00 a.m. with two hours between sessions. The May 20 sessions will be at Paradise Park (4775 S. McLeod). The May 21 lessons will take place at Desert Breeze Park (8275 Spring Mountain Rd.), and the final day, June 3, will be hosted at Anthem Hills Park (2256 Reunion Dr., Henderson).

Pre-registration is encouraged as spaces are limited. Sign up at nhl.com/goldenknights/info/sticksforkids.
