If the Billboard Music Awards had been around in 1925, “Rhapsody in Blue” would’ve owned the night. Drizzy’s got nothin on Gershwin.
But we digress, here’s who wanted to be seen in Las Vegas last weekend.
Jewel headlined the first INSPIRE charity event at the Palazzo Theatre, benefiting the Marty Hennessy Inspiring Children Foundation.
We missed Jewel. Remember when she arrived in the ’90s and she was kinda granola, but then after the millennium she got all sexed up for that “Intuition” song?
We can’t decide which look we liked more.
While we’re on the topic of gems, Jewel Nightclub also got its share of celebrity sightings. Halsey (who gave a surprise performance with PartyNextDoor) and Kate Upton made appearances, as well as DJ Khaled and Drake.

If only we all could live the life of Aubrey Drake Graham. The night before cleaning up at the BBMA’s, the singer was recording a performance of his single “Gyalchester” on a stage in the Bellagio fountains.
If you’ve been around, you’ll recall Britney Spears pulled off a similar stunt for the 2001 BBMA’s, only without the fireworks.

Sugar Factory keeps reeling in the big time stars. Weeks after hosting Backstreet Boy Nick Carter and model Kylie Jenner, the Fashion Show Mall restaurant welcomed former wrestler and Santa’s Slay star Bill Goldberg for a fan meet and greet.
Goldberg—who also had supporting roles in Universal Soldier: The Return and Ready to Rumble—and his family enjoyed a feast of Factory favorites, including the limited edition “Goldburger.” It’s two double-angus beef patties with melted white and yellow cheddar cheese, topped with onion rings and served with pickles, lettuce, tomato, and the restaurant’s “secret sauce.”
DJ Khaled arrived in town ahead of the Billboard Music Awards so he could hang with Fabolous at Chris Brown’s “The Party Tour” stop at MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Vanessa Hudgens also arrived early for her BBMA co-hosting gig, and sat in on a performance of BAZ – Star Crossed Love at The Palazzo.
And reality television personality Scott Disick enjoyed the VIP life as he celebrated his 34th birthday in Las Vegas this weekend. After hanging with Brody Jenner at ARIA’s Liquid Pool Lounge party on Saturday morning, he was guest of honor at Mirage’s 1 OAK nightclub.
Jason Derulo even stopped by after his performance at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
Meanwhile, TMZ reported that burglars hit Disick’s Hidden Hills, California home while he was partying here.
A few weeks back we floated the idea of Ja Rule getting his own Vegas residency to prove he’s more than just a failed festival promoter. Now we look like geniuses because Ja flew into town and blew up Flamingo Las Vegas’ Go Pool.
We love you Ja.

Also at Go Pool on Sunday: Vanderpump Rules reality star Brittany Cartwright.
And didn’t Drake have himself a night on Sunday? Congratulations Drake on your Billboard Music Award wins, you remain part of an elite group of illustrious BBMA winners that includes Kriss Kross, Ace of Base, RuPaul and Baha Men.
Also getting big time applause inside T-Mobile Arena: Las Vegas headliner Celine Dion. On the 20th anniversary of Titanic, she sang “My Heart Will Go On” and dammit, we’ll never let go.
Back in 1998 Celine cleaned up with that song, winning six Billboard Music Awards.
You know who also won big that year? Next, with “Too Close.” Remember “Too Close?” That’s still a great song.
Among those seen on the BBMA magenta carpet and performing at the ceremony: Bruno Mars, Monte Carlo headliner Cher, The Chainsmokers, David Guetta (on stage with Nicki Minaj), local boys Imagine Dragons, former Las Vegas star Josh Duhamel, Jussie Smollett, Halsey, Ludacris, Billy Ray Cyrus, Florida Georgia Line, Camila Cabelo, South Korean boy band BTS, Rita Ora, Taylor Gray, Ty Dolla $ign, Lea Michele, Shawn Hook, Jessie James Decker, Ed Sheeran, Kate Beckinsale, and John Legend.
Legend’s wife, Chrissy Teigen, didn’t make it to the show, as she was busy taking in Magic Mike Live over at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
And it. Was dope. https://t.co/QyFxSKFFCO

Can you blame her?
