Health, Healing and Happiness—There’s a Conference for That

Dr. Fuhrman

Health, healing and happiness starts on the inside. Just ask Ina Mohan, founder of the annual Health, Healing, Happiness conference taking place June 9–11 at Tuscany Suites.

The event first came to town in 2012 and attracted a small crowd of about 150. However, as people have become more aware of holistic health and healing, the number of attendees has grown exponentially. This year, Mohan expects upwards of about 1,000 to attend.

“It’s grown into a nationally-acclaimed health and wellness conference,” she says. “I’m overjoyed to see how much more aware people are becoming, how much the public is embracing these natural solutions and is more eager to apply self-care versus health care.”

This year, Mohan has assembled an all-star team of experts spanning the fields of nutrition, fitness and personal development with one goal: to empower attendees to heal their body, mind and spirit—naturally.

The program features industry names like Dr. Joel Fuhrman, a six-time New York Times best-selling author and nutritional researcher who has appeared on The Dr. Oz Show, among other programs, and plans to speak about how to combat cancer. Dr. Michael Klaper, a contributor to PBS’ Food for Thought, will talk about how to thrive on a plant-based diet, while Miyoko Schinner of vegan cheese producer Miyoko’s Kitchen will discuss the art of achieving happiness and empowerment through a vegan lifestyle. The director of the Florida-based Hippocrates Health Institute Brian Clement, Ph.D., L.N., will share insights about how to unlock the mystery of food and different diets, as well as an additional presentation about lengthening life. Steve Pavlina, a well-known personal development blogger, will discuss the mental and emotional sides of health and how it connects to diet, exercise and detoxification.

And to be sure Las Vegas is represented, rounding out the speakers is chef Stacey Dougan of Simply Pure, who will share her experience on how to balance motherhood, entrepreneurship and sex, and eating healthy to look younger.

Additional workshops, which start at $15 for conference attendees, cover topics such as anti-aging foods, edible skincare, sound healing and aromatherapy, healing with turmeric, candida remedies, and medical cannabis for fitness and wellness. There will also be cooking demos.

Health, Healing, Happiness kicks off with a special four-course vegan gourmet dinner with the keynote speakers, prepared by Las Vegas’ chef Mayra Trabulse (of the indefinitely closed Pura Vida) on Friday, June 9 at 7 p.m. Tickets for the dinner start at $70. Accompanying the event is a wellness expo that is free to the public and features more than 70 vendors.

Conference passes start at $79, while additional workshop prices vary. Tuscany Suites, 255 E. Flamingo Rd.,
