One of the major selling points for legalizing recreational marijuana in Nevada was the financial windfall that tax revenues offered our state’s perpetually beleaguered school systems. According to estimates from the governor’s office, the combined revenue from medical and recreational marijuana fees and taxes, as well as an additional 10 percent sales tax on recreational cannabis should pull in about $44 million for fiscal year 2018.
