An Intimate Set at the Titan-Sized T-Mobile Arena? Ed Sheeran Pulled It Off

It’s amazing how one man can turn an 18,000-seat venue into an intimate setting with a captivating performance of sweet ballads. That’s exactly what happened at T-Mobile Arena on August 4, when Ed Sheeran packed the venue with fans of all ages—all there to see the English singer-songwriter perform with his guitars and looper pedal.

Each performance from his 17-song setlist was paired with a guitar change. Behind him, a 20-screen mushroom-like cloud featured a different video for every song. The projections varied, from images of his childhood to a fire-breathing dragon as he sang “I See Fire” from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug soundtrack to a whale swimming in space during “Thinking Out Loud.”

The pop star started and finished with his most recent hit songs, “Castle on the Hill” and “Shape of You,” and the crowd was out of their seats for the entirety of the show, dancing and singing along all throughout.
