Melody Sweets Dazzles in One-Night-Only Holiday Show at Cabaret Jazz

A birthday and a holiday celebration wrapped in a big red bow courtesy of one of Las Vegas' top performers.

Chanteuse Melody Sweets, known for her recently wrapped six-year run as the Green Fairy in Absinthe at Caesars Palace, put on a holiday version of her show “The Sweets’ Spot” December 19, which also happened to be her birthday. Joined by Santa Fe & The Fat City Horns as her band and vocalist Jassen Allen, Sweets performed a lineup of holiday hits as well as her own original songs, including “Santa Maybe.” The vocal action was sliced with burlesque from Michelle L’Amour, Ms. Tickle and Bettina May; Vaudeville-style variety acts from Albert Cadabra and Ekaterina Sknarina; and appearances by dancers from Chippendales and Jubilee!. This was her fifth show at Cabaret Jazz in The Smith Center, after bringing the non-holiday version of “The Sweets’ Spot” to the theater in 2016 and early 2017. Now that we’ve gotten a taste of a Sweets’ led production—we’re hoping for more from this amazing performer in 2018.

Here’s Vegas Seven’s exclusive look at the backstage action.
