The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino—like the franchise itself—has long served as a museum of musical artifacts, but with veteran rock act Incubus beginning their limited engagement at The Joint in February, the resort is trying something different than show-worn T-shirts and drum sticks.
A large-scale display of eight fine art pieces by the band’s frontman, Brandon Boyd, can now be seen on a wall in front of The Joint, and will remain there through 2018.
“The Art of Brandon Boyd” showcases the artist/author/singer’s off-stage passion, with several works from his “Heart of Gold” collection. Boyd, whose biography describes him as a natural artist since childhood, constructs his images “by change through colorful ink spills and the contents of his own travel journals.”
With Boyd’s fine art on display, Incubus is hoping to make the most of its limited engagement at The Joint. The shows were originally set for October 2017, but got postponed following the 1 October tragedy on the Las Vegas Strip.
Incubus kicks off its limited engagement on February 2. Tickets are available on the Hard Rock Hotel website.
