No Britney? No problem.
Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino reloaded its residency roster on Tuesday with one of the biggest female pop stars of the last twentysomething years, and now Gwen Stefani is the hottest ticket in town.
Long rumored to be in talks for a Vegas residency, Stefani is officially tapped for 25 dates beginning in June at Zappos Theater, which is also home to Backstreet Boys, Lionel Richie and—at least until September—Jennifer Lopez. The venue, formerly known as AXIS, hosted Britney Spears until her departure at the end of 2017.
By naming her new residency show Just a Girl, Stefani is tipping fans to the inclusion of No Doubt songs alongside her solo hits—think “Hollaback Girl” and “Sweet Escape”—in the show. Since leaving No Doubt in the early aughts, the singer has released four albums (including a Christmas album) and grown her global fan base as a coach on NBC’s The Voice competition.
In Las Vegas, she’ll fit right in among the city’s current lineup of megastar residents, which includes Cher, Reba McEntire, Brooks & Dunn, Calvin Harris, Ricky Martin and—beginning in December—Lady Gaga.
Tickets to Gwen Stefani’s Just a Girl residency go on sale Friday, April 13, with $1 from every ticket sold being donated to the Las Vegas nonprofit Cure 4 the Kids Foundation.
Stefani is scheduled to perform on the following dates: June 27, 29 and 30; July 3, 6, 7, 11, 13, 14, 18, 20 and 21; December 27, 29, 30 and 31; February 27, 2019; March 1, 2, 6, 8, 9, 13, 15 and 16, 2019.
