Chef Joseph Elevado has quietly decamped from Andrea’s at Encore to head up the culinary efforts for San Diego–based Prep Kitchen. There he will oversee three restaurants for the brand, which also has its sights set on L.A. While Elevado left Andrea’s only one week ago, we hear the executive chef position has already been filled internally by Mizumi’s Devin Hashimoto. And Wynn has already updated its web page to reflect the change. Chef Hashimoto previously served at Alex Stratta’s eponymous bastion of French cooking, Alex, before heading up Okada seven years ago. Okada became Mizumi six years ago and has since gone on to be regarded as one of the country’s top Japanese eateries under Hashimoto’s tenure. There is no word yet on what changes, if any, Hashimoto has in store for Andrea’s or who will fill his shoes at Mizumi.
