In sequined attire, Tito, Jackie, Marlon and Jermaine Jackson channeled their hits and performed precision signature choreography. Highlights included flawless renditions of “I Want You Back,” “ABC,” “Never Can Say Goodbye” and “I’ll Be There.” Their father, Joe Jackson, was also in the house. Cries of “Michael!” abounded when the brothers shared vocal duties on “I Wanna Be Where You Are” and “Rock With You.” Superfans shed tears during a video montage.
The only lull was a trio of Jermaine’s songs, which felt like a declaration of, “Hey everyone! I had a solo career, too!” Understanding what the fans wanted, the Jacksons wrapped up with Michael’s “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” and “Don’t Stop ’Til You Get Enough.” They got the majority of the diverse audience out of their seats for “Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)” to conclude a polished show worthy of a Strip headliner.
Marring the concert, however, was the extended audience capacity. The Cannery opened a large door and put seats outside the main showroom, which wouldn’t have been so bad if additional speakers accompanied the additional seats. ★★★★☆
