Artist Gina Quaranto has been the self-described owner-director-curator-janitor of Blackbird Studios since it opened in 2010. She’s soldiered on through Downtown’s changes, from regrouping after a transformer explosion destroyed her previous gallery to running a satellite space in Container Park. And it’s all been in service of the art she loves: “Our gallery differs from the rest in that it’s an everyman gallery … not just [for] art-school people,” she says. “It’s a hub, a meeting place. It’s a family unit.” 1551 S. Commerce St., 702-782-0319.
