Although they relocated to Las Vegas just a few years ago, it didn’t take long for artists Elizabeth Colon Nelson, Heidi Rider and Adriana Chavez to make waves in the Downtown art scene. The three formed the local collective Weft in the Weave and planned Small Space Fest, a one-day performance and visual arts festival that took over Emergency Arts in June. Strange installations transformed each room: headless furry marionettes with finger legs hanging on the walls, Baroque opera singers zigzagging through hallways and random jockstraps flying through the air. Guess you had to be there. 520 Fremont St.,WeftInTheWeave.com.
