Hiding from the scorching summer sun in a dark, cool movie theater has been a tradition since the black-and-white and silent days. If you’re not a fan of the current multiplex superhero bombast, the Classic Film Series at Baobab Stage is where you can relax with some quality cinema. Located in Town Square, the theater usually hosts concerts, burlesque and other forms of performance, but earlier in the day, it’s a screening room for old reliables such as His Girl Friday and The Wizard of Oz, as well as more cultish offerings such as Sam Fuller’s The Naked Kiss. Even better: The Baobab has a bar, so if you need a box of Milk Duds and a shot of Fireball to get through Night of the Living Dead, it’s all taken care of.
