The economic downturn was an unexpected boon for Goodwill of Southern Nevada, which has not only expanded, but is continuing to build new stores around the Valley. Last year, the nonprofit opened its first mall anchor store in the nation, taking over a 28,000-square-foot space in the Boulevard Mall. It is the largest Goodwill in the organization’s 41-year history in Nevada. In May, there was a groundbreaking for a 17,000-square-foot store in Henderson with a drive-thru. A similar store opened in North Las Vegas in November. The organization has 18 retail stores and employs more than 900 people. Multiple locations.
