Las Vegas Natural History Museum

Natural History Museum

From the giant metal dinosaur sculpture outside to the roars of the 35-foot-long Tyrannosaurus Rex, every parent of a small child knows this is “The Dinosaur Museum.” But if you think prehistoric beasts are the only attraction to this Smithsonian Affiliate museum, you are missing out. With hands-on activities (digging for fossils) as well as fish and animals (a live seahorse habitat), the museum offers several engaging permanent exhibits: Treasures of Egypt, a 3,000-gallon shark tank in the Marine Life Gallery and taxidermy vignettes in the African Savanna Gallery. 900 Las Vegas Blvd. North, 702-384-3466, LVNHM.org.
