Best Rebel to Watch

Lexington Thomas

UNLV football is in the early stages of a renaissance under second-year head coach Tony Sanchez, and it’s going to be a long process. But if one player has a chance to kickstart that effort and push the Rebels ahead of schedule, it’s sophomore running back Lexington Thomas. The Texas native stands just 5-foot-9, but he’s nearly impossible to tackle thanks to top-end speed and elusiveness. After rushing for 506 yards on 81 carries as a freshman (a team-best 6.2 yards per attempt), Thomas can juke his way around defenders as he makes a bid for All-Mountain West Conference honors this fall.
