If there was a mayor of Fremont Street, it would be Dennis Lopez. The 55-year-old Harlem native stands outside of Bronze Café at The Market with his beaming smile, serving compliments to passersby five days a week. He’ll shoot a “How’s my man doing today?” or a “That’s a beautiful dress” to anyone. “Even the panhandlers. They deserve respect, too,” he says. Lopez’s positive presence is a highlight of the day for Downtown denizens and, admittedly, he puts a smile on the Vegas Seven staff’s faces, who frequent Bronze Café. Hopefully this small nod puts one on his. Bronze Café at The Market, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., Sun.–Thurs., 611 E. Fremont St.
