1—As in No. 1 North Carolina. If all goes according to plan, UNLV will have the opportunity to play the top-ranked Tar Heels at the Orleans Arena on Nov. 26.

3—3-pointers have been a part of the Rebels’ arsenal since the shot was adopted nationwide for the 1986-87 season. UNLV has made at least one 3-pointer in 806 consecutive games, the longest streak in the nation. Will the streak survive another season?

4—The last time the Rebels had four players average double digits in scoring over an entire season was the 1999-2000 season. This year’s squad has the potential to do that again, with Chace Stanback, Mike Moser, Anthony Marshall, Oscar Bellfield and Justin Hawkins as the leading candidates.

11—That could be the magic number of conference victories needed (out of 14 games) to win the Mountain West regular-season title, something the Rebels haven’t achieved since they shared the crown with Utah in the 1999-2000 season.

20—The Rebels have won at least 20 games for five straight seasons, the first time since 1988-93 that has happened. UNLV has averaged 25.4 wins per season over the current stretch.

25—UNLV has made brief appearances in the Top 25 over the last few seasons—last year they topped out at No. 20—but hasn’t been able to stick there for any length of time. Will the Rebels be consistent enough this year to sustain a run in the national rankings?

80—Even though the Rebels are still known for their “Runnin’,” they haven’t averaged at least 80 points per game since the 1999-2000 season. Perhaps coach Dave Rice’s up-tempo approach can get UNLV to pile up the points once again.
