Road Wars

Watching the Rebels grow up fast this season has been great. But now with some big road games coming, it’s hard not to wonder if they’ve grown up enough. My feeling is with the talent and depth of this team, the Rebels should be able to play with tough teams away from the Thomas & Mack Center. Read more »

Marshall Gets the Point

How difficult is it to go from playing the two-guard to running a team as the point guard? For some, it can kill your confidence as a player, while for others it becomes just another challenge in your sports career. UNLV junior Anthony Marshall has taken that challenge head-on this season, and he’s been impressive through four games at the point, averaging 10 points and 7 assists. Read more »
Lessons from Game One

What was impressive was the way this thinned-out UNLV roster adjusted in the second half: The defense tightened up; the offense was more aggressive. Justin Hawkins, previously thought of as a defensive specialist, finished with a career high 25 points. Sophomore transfer Mike Moser had 16 points, and 20 rebounds and Oscar Bellfield added 12 points and dished out 6 assists. Read more »
