The club sandwich may be the most difficult thing to make in a kitchen because of the intricate construction. There’s the matter of keeping three slices of Texas toast evenly spaced apart with layers of turkey, applewood-smoked bacon, avocado, lettuce and tomato—with some chipotle mayo thrown in for good measure—and then driving the toothpicks in straight to keep the towering sandwich upright.
