Vegas SOUP Event

Did you know you can support your community just by sitting in a garden eating soup? That’s the premise behind the Vegas SOUP event, which stands for Support, Organize and Unite People. The next SOUP will be at Vegas Roots Community Garden on September 23 at 5 p.m. The garden is in Las Vegas at 715 North Tonopah Drive. Admission price is a $10 donation.
SOUP is more than just a delicious dinner, which, on top of soup, features bread, drinks and live music. It’s an innovative micro-grant program. Representatives of small community organizations give short presentations on their current projects, and attendees vote on who receives funding, which comes from the proceeds of the evening.
