Josh Stevens Foundation Be Kind Day
The final months of 2012 will prove to be a moving one for the Josh Stevens Foundation. While community giving may go hand-in-hand with the pending holiday season, being kind is the year-round goal for the foundation. The fast-growing Henderson-based organization is announcing its “Take 5 to be KIND... like Josh” initiatives for 2012’s fourth quarter.
Josh Stevens was a 12-year-old Nevada student whose life was taken in a tragic accident, and who loved to be genuinely kind. His parents have since set up a foundation in order to celebrate kids in random acts of kindness. The program is designed to inspire people to simply be kind like Josh on the 5th of every month.
This month, the Foundation has asked to spread kindness in the following ways:
Recognize a non-profit organization
- BE KIND… LIKE JOSH: Select an organization and write them a letter, volunteer, donate items or donate money. There are so many wonderful ways to honor them. Non-profit foundations are making a difference in our world and ultimately, they are all sharing our message of being KIND.
Bring a neighbor a meal
- BE KIND... LIKE JOSH: Josh enjoyed surprising neighbors with cookies, snacks, holiday packages and lemonade. Try it this month. It’s such a busy time of year for us all. Wouldn’t it be nice if someone made you dinner? Be KIND... like Josh and make dinner for a friend!
