Best Juxtaposition of Old and New Vegas
July 28th, 2011
From the serene balcony at the Springs Café by Wolfgang Puck, you can enjoy the best view in the city. In front of you are the grounds of the Springs Preserve, a vision of an ancient desert oasis older than the hills. Or at least older than Las Vegas—this was the spot whose meadows and springs gave the city its name and its start. Sweeping across the background, beyond the old trees and foxtails, is the sparkling panorama of the World Market Center, downtown Las Vegas and the Strip. While you savor a glass of wine and the Steak and Blue Cheese Salad, you can chew on this view, which is a reminder of the miracle we have built here and the one that’s around us all of the time.
