Best Off-the-Strip Restaurant
July 28th, 2011
Literally, it is Off the Strip. The neighborhood around it in Southern Highlands may be—oh, what’s the proper urban-design term?—quintessential Vegas bland, but the charms of this bistro are plentiful, from its lovely lit interiors to the subtle self-deprecation of the staff (“Your GPS found us, huh?”). Over the past couple of years, Off the Strip has become a popular first stop for the weary and hungry returning to town on Interstate 15, but it first and foremost thrives on its neighbors. The main reason they keep coming back are offerings such as Black Angus strips wrapped around grilled asparagus and provolone topped with basil and sun-dried tomatoes, succulent scampi-stuffed chicken, and the ever-popular lobster ravioli—all damn piquant to the taste buds.
