Best Survey That, Mercifully, Didn’t Threaten Our Fragile Hopes of Economic Recovery

That’s right, fellow underwater Las Vegans, there is at least one giant list-maker who recognized our resilient nature by failing to perceive the depth of our economic disaster. In July, Yahoo Finance ranked the 15 Worst Housing Markets for the next five years, and guess who was merrily absent? Us. Places such as Miami and Atlantic City and Austin made the list, but not Las Vegas. We can stash that with our list of high teen-pregnancy, low-graduation and high-unemployment ranking honors. But this ranking—not having one of the 15 worst housing markets—is something to be proud of. Maybe recovery is closer than we think.
