Can you say “game-changer”? The electronic music takeover was in full effect in 2011, solidified by the move of Insomniac Events’ Electric Daisy Carnival to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in June. Spearheading the dance domination was Insomniac founder Pasquale Rotella, who’s been bringing beats to Southern California since 1993 and has now set his sights on Sin City. Widely recognized as one of the most powerful driving forces in North America’s EDM scene, Rotella and Insomniac’s presence in Las Vegas generated more than $136 million for the local economy on top of charitable contributions made to local organizations from EDC ticket sales. Rotella and Insomniac have made the appeal of Vegas as a dance-music destination only that much brighter to fans around the country. Here’s to dancing in the desert!
