Coolest Place to Live

The Ogden

The actual coolest place to live is probably L’Octaine Urban Apartments (pronounced “El-octane,” a play on its cross street, Gass Avenue), but there are many hoops to jump through to get a coveted spot in this Bohemian, rent-controlled artist haven at 150 Las Vegas Blvd. North. However, just a little farther north, another incredible talent-magnet is corralling the connected, the artistically inclined and the top tastemakers of the city into one hip place. At one time the building was all but vacant; the former Streamline Tower was something to laugh and point at from the door of the Griffin. But since changing its name, getting a snazzy new paint job and ditching the increasingly depressing ownership angle in favor of hip apartment living, the Ogden has become the downtown and all-around coolest place to live. Beyond the long list of included amenities (secure parking, pet park, fitness center and rooftop pool, just to name a few), Ogden-dwellers chose to locate themselves just feet from the burgeoning downtown nightlife scene and live on a steady diet of to-the-bone hipness and Le Thai.
