Knowing the Drill

For those whose everyday lot in life is to think about the unthinkable, disaster simulation is a must. On Aug. 31, North Las Vegas firefighters and Southern Nevada EMS providers conducted a bus-crash-and-rollover drill as part of the EMS World Expo at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The hypothetical situation involved a high-school debate team and a highway collision with two vehicles, with area students playing the roles of the wounded, trapped and rescued.
