If you wanted to witness hundreds of women have a collective orgasm, The Weeknd’s pre-Kanye set at Downtown Stage was the place to be. Despite his cartoon character haircut and the odd military-grade vest, the Canadian crooner had the ladies looking like heart-eyed emojis. “Las Vegas, I wanna get sexy for you,” he proclaimed several times throughout his hourlong performance.

It started off woozy—the bass didn’t drop until the third song—but was punched up by a live band. Veiled behind a translucent screen, the band made dynamic shifts from an acoustic version of “What You Need” to machine gun-drumming on “Belong to the World.”

Audibly and visually it was a NSFW affair, with projections of nude women and bondage complimenting raunchy anthems. You can guess what several young women answered to The Weeknd’s X-rated come-on in his remix to Ty Dolla $ign’s “Or Nah.” He even flipped Beyoncé’s “Drunk In Love,” switching up the lyrics from I want you, na-na to I’m not trying to fuck tomorrow, baby/I want you, now now. You can guarantee several children were conceived that night.  ★★★✩✩
