Aww, Nelly has a friend.

The St. Lunatic was in town to celebrate his 37th birthday when he ran into overpaid, underperforming Red Sox outfielder Carl Crawford at Marquee’s Boom Box Room on Nov. 11 at the next table over. Apparently Crawford got in the birthday spirit because he sent over a magnum of Ace of Spades Rosé.

The next night was both a Manny Pacquiao/Juan Manuel Marquez after-fight party and Nelly’s official birthday celebration at Tao, where Crawford and Nelly hung out again. We imagine Nelly was just glad Crawford helped the Cardinals win the World Series by tanking a team that had a legitimate shot at the title.

To celebrate, Nelly hopped on the mic to do “Hot in Herre” and “Where the Party At.” He should’ve tossed out Red Sox anthem “Sweet Caroline” mixed in with a chorus of boos just to make Crawford really feel at home.
