We’re not sure what happened to Nicole Scherzinger. She used to be so willing to parade around in public in leather pants and a sparkly bra because it made her sing better (at least we assume that’s how it worked).
Whatever the case, she spent the weekend at Tao Beach in a wrap. We don’t appreciate this new turn toward “modesty” and “dignity.” If we wanted to see ladies in billowy, shapeless clothing, we’d go hang out at our aunt’s house.
Scherzinger did the pool June 22 along with Hill Harper, Quinton Aaron of The Blind Side and her cousin Meleana Brown. After that, it was off to Lavo for dinner, then up to the nightclub where Chris Paul was doing his Baller’s Ball with his brother, CJ, and Clippers rookies Travis Leslie and Trey Thompkins.
The next day, Scherzinger was back at Tao Beach to blow out an early 34th birthday where she did “Don’t Cha” and a medley of other tracks. DJ Jason Lema premiered her “One More Shot,” which is supposed to be coming out on a studio album slated for this summer. But considering she spent several years working on a record that never actually came out, we wouldn’t exactly go circling any dates on the calendar.
She also got into a water-gun fight with Paul, which means that being a celebrity essentially gives you license to always act like you’re at a 9-year-old’s birthday party, but with champagne. Now we’re even more jealous than we were before.
Finally, the former Pussycat Doll hit Tao that evening, where Francia Raisa of The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Taylor Hicks and Elliot Yamin were partying. Justin Bartha was at the restaurant earlier, but left for Marquee, presumably after someone at Tao shouted, “Hey, that guy was in Gigli. GET HIM!”
