Where from: Las Vegas (Arbor View High School)

Major/occupational goals: Craven, who is majoring in Human Services and hopes to one day become a counselor, got her career motivation while attending Del Sol High School as a freshman and sophomore. “It was kind of a bad area and I saw a lot of problems, so I decided I wanted to help try and fix some of them when I got older.”

Why she chose UNLV: “For the dance team. I was searching a bunch of different dance teams one day while I was in high school on YouTube, and UNLV kept popping up. I could tell they were really good. I want to go pro after college for a few years, and I knew this would be a really good fit to try and achieve that.”

How she got into dancing: Craven’s mom signed her up for dance classes when she was 3, and she’s been dancing ever since. In ninth and 10th grade, she switched to cheerleading, but quickly got back on the dance squad when she moved to Arbor View for her last two years of high school.

Outside interests: “Honestly, I eat, sleep and breathe dance. I really don’t have a lot of time for much else.”

Favorite Rebel: Bryan Glenn. “He’s my best friend. We talk on the phone all the time, and he’s always there for me.”

Favorite moment during a UNLV sporting event: “After we did our national routine earlier this year at a basketball game, the crowd literally went nuts. We got a standing ovation, which I think was the first time that’s ever happened. It was a great feeling.”

Favorite song to dance to: “Joker” by Drake featuring Kanye West.

Best way to get the crowd going: “Just by starting the REB—ELS chant.”

Bet you didn’t know this: Craven is a year younger than other sophomores on campus because she skipped second grade. “I was there for three weeks and then took an end-of-year test and moved right into third grade. I’m glad I did it.”
