Cheers to Three More Restaurants Turning 10

    By Grace Bascos

Tao isn’t the only place celebrating a decade in Las Vegas this year. Plenty of spots have opened and closed since 2005, so it goes to show that it takes a special breed to have some longevity in this town.

Seven reasons to lift up a glass

    1. After months of stalking—er, patiently waiting, I finally got to experience the rollout of Sirio’s new amaro cart last weekend. The custom-made beauty, expertly wielded by sommelier Jeff Eichelberger at the Aria restaurant, actually offers a lot more than just amari, Italian herbal liqueurs. Five varieties of house-made cello anchor the project—including classic limoncello and coco-nib cello!—along with a selection of grappas, liqueurs and aperitivos.

    1. Do you know Jack? Casa Fuente (731-5051) in the Forum Shops at Caesars sure does! The two have collaborated to bring you a limited-edition Casa Fuente single-barrel whiskey. A portion of the proceeds from each $85 bottle benefits the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation. Glenfiddich 50 lands in Vegas There is but one bottle of Glenfiddich 50 Year in Nevada—just six in the U.S.—and we have it. Well, Casa Fuente in the Forum Shops at Caesars has it. And for just $1,100 per dram. This is only the second release of a Glenfiddich 50 (the first was in 2009; a bottle reported sold at auction for $38,000). But, thankfully, there are deals to be had when cigar and whiskey aficionados join the Casa Fuente Spirits Society, launching first thing in January.
