Going for Broke

Daily Broke: Mets (+120) at Dodgers

Unlike my Dodgers, I can’t lose this week, as I’m 3-for-3 after Wednesday’s ridiculously easy winner on the Angels (13-1 at Baltimore). Read more »

Daily Broke: Angels (-125) at Orioles

Hard not to like the Angels in this spot. They’ve won seven of their last nine games overall, they’ve won 12 of 13 on the road, they’re hitting the hell out of the ball and they have ace Jared Weaver on the mound. Read more »

Daily Broke: Dodgers-Giants UNDER 6 runs

That was some roller-coaster ride last night: The Cardinals trailed 6-2 in Miami going to the top of the ninth, pushed across four runs to send the game to extra innings, scored twice in the top of the 10th, then allowed one in the bottom of the frame before holding on for an 8-7 win. Read more »

Daily Broke: Thunder +3 1/2 at Heat

So far, I’m batting .500 in the NBA Finals, scoring a winner with the Thunder in Game 1 and losing with the Thunder in Game 2. Read more »

Daily Broke: Angels (PK) vs. Giants

Far be it from me to nitpick a perfect game, especially one that includes 14 strikeouts, but Matt Cain’s perfecto last week for the Giants did occur in a night game at AT&T Park in San Francisco (you won’t find better pitcher-friendly conditions than that). Read more »

Daily Broke: Thunder -5 1/2 vs. Heat

The reasons to support the Heat in Game 2 of the NBA Finals: They had a seven-point halftime lead in Game 1; they haven’t lost consecutive games by more than five points in these playoffs; and they have the old betting “zig-zag” theory working in their favor. Read more »
