Daily Bet: Alabama (-12) vs. Tennessee, First Half (Saturday)
October 19th, 2012
The answer is: broccoli, Monday mornings and the San Francisco 49ers. The question is: What are three things I hate with the intensity of 1,000 suns? Read more »
Daily Bet: 49ers (-7) vs. Seahawks
October 18th, 2012
Week 7 of the NFL season kicks off tonight in the Bay Area, and even though my NFL opinion these days is about as useless as a calculus book in the Jersey Shore house, I’ve still got a strong opinion on this 49ers-Seahawks clash. Read more »

After a weekend to forget, it’s time to take advantage of a tough spot for Giants
October 18th, 2012
Washington catches the Giants in a tough sandwich spot here. New York is coming off a 26-3 beat-down of the 49ers in San Francisco and has another divisional game on deck at Dallas. And while the Giants did rally from a 14-0 hole at home against Cleveland two weeks ago, they’re still just 6-15-1 against the spread in their last 22 regular-season home games. Read more »
Daily Bet: Yankees-Tigers UNDER 7 (-125)
October 17th, 2012
If not for one ninth-inning implosion by the gas can known as Jose Valverde, do you know how many runs the Yankees and Tigers would have combined to produce through the first three games of the American League Championship Series? Ten. Read more »
Daily Bet: Cardinals (+120) at Nationals
October 12th, 2012
Washington certainly has the momentum after Thursday’s walk-off, season-saving 2-1 victory. But the Nationals are incredibly lucky to be in this spot, considering they barely eked out a Game 1 victory (3-2)—St. Louis’ two wins were by a combined score of 20-4. Read more »
Daily Bet: Steelers-Titans UNDER 43½ (game), UNDER 21½ (first half)
October 11th, 2012
Joe Girardi’s bio says he’s a graduate of Northwestern, one of the most prestigious academic institutions in the country. Um, I’d like to take a peek at the Yankee manager’s transcripts, as I can’t believe anyone who would continue to start a washed-up Alex Rodriguez in the playoffs—and bat him third in the lineup—is smart enough to even qualify for Northwestern, let alone graduate. Texans-Jets result leaves most bettors with a black eye and an empty wallet
October 11th, 2012
If you’ve lived in this town for more than five minutes, you’ve heard a version of what I like to call Las Vegas’ most obnoxious cliché: How do you think they were able to build all those extravagant hotels? I’m happy to report that the last 22 people who have dared to utter that garbage in my presence have gotten punched in the face (including a couple of relatives). I’m not, however, happy to report that said cliché punched me—and about 98 percent of the NFL betting public—in the face on Oct. 8. Really hard. Read more »
Daily Bet: Orioles-Yankees UNDER 8½
October 10th, 2012
The Oakland A’s kept their magical season alive — and got me back in the win column — with Tuesday’s 2-0 victory over Detroit. Tonight, let’s switch to the other American League series and play it under the total. Read more »
Daily Bet: A’s (-135) vs. Tigers
October 9th, 2012
That didn’t happen, right? Please tell me the Houston Texans—the team that had outscored opponents by an average of 17.5 points per game in racing out to a 4-0 start—didn’t score a single touchdown last night against the Jets after the 11:11 mark of the second quarter. Read more »
Daily Bet: Texans (-9) at Jets
October 8th, 2012
Let’s start with a disclaimer: I’d trust Michael Vick to not drop an infant before I’d trust my NFL opinion right now. Read more »
