    By Jason Scavone

Everyone loves a makeover. That—and little else—explains why Extreme Makeover: Home Edition was on the air for nine seasons. But what are we to feel when a makeover involves one of our most venerable liquortoriums?

    Paris Checks in at EDC

    By Jason Scavone

Another year and, if you couldn’t tell by the discarded beads from broken kandi clackity-clacking down Interstate 15, another Electric Daisy Carnival is in the books. This year’s event didn’t suffer from the sudden windstorm that put a damper on last year’s second night, which means unfortunately it did suffer from the full complement of Paris Hilton. Hilton was relatively subdued for the weekend, taking just enough time to Instagram her stupid, stupid outfits before boarding the chopper and rolling up on the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Paris has a new punch-happy boyfriend

    By Jason Scavone

Maybe Steve Wynn should’ve stuck to that ban a little longer. Paris Hilton is in the middle of another controversy at XS, though this time she didn’t do anything illegal. She left that part up to her new boyfriend.

Wynn really no problem for Paris

    By Jason Scavone

Paris Hilton is so un-banned from Wynn properties that she’s even getting invited to special events now. Apparently Steve Wynn doesn’t hold grudges at all. We guess “Wynn” isn’t an Irish name, then. (Gangs of New York-era zing! We’re full of timely material.)

Skrillex brings in the usual suspects

    By Jason Scavone

Even our Academy Award winners are listening to dubstep. Even beyond the ones you’d expect, we mean, like Jamie Foxx. And Christopher Plummer. Benicio del Toro was at Tryst on May 26 to check out wub-wub wunderkind Skrillex, keeping a low profile at the bar instead of being all flashy and rocking a table or the dance floor. No, he left “being all flashy on the dance floor” to Christopher Mintz-Plasse. Kind of del Toro to recognize that McLovin needed the attention.

In an interview with the website CastaNet.net, Wynn Resorts resident DJ Afrojack gave Paris Hilton the highest praise anyone, anywhere has ever given her musical ability: “She may not be a Celine Dion, but she knows how to perform onstage.”

    By Jason Scavone

Rick and Kathy Hilton were spending some time with son Barron for his 22nd birthday Nov. 19 at Marquee along with Paris. While they were there, though, youngest son Conrad crashed into a parked car in Brentwood, Calif., and left the scene before eventually returning.

Adrian Grenier calls Paris Hilton a genius (and means it)

    By Jason Scavone

Entourage orphan Adrian Grenier screened his documentary Teenage Paparazzo at Chateau on Oct. 21 and held a Q&A with fans afterward. Someone asked him what he thought of Paris Hilton, and he said, “I think she’s a genius, and that Andy Warhol would have gone ape-shit over her. She is the postmodern queen of tabloid media.” So there it is—the first and probably last time in history that anyone, ever, has called Paris Hilton a genius.

    Toujours, Paris

    By Charity Mainville

Celebrities should know that too many appearances can leave you burned out in this city. No longer paid to party, Nicky and Paris Hilton were spotted in various locations throughout Vegas over the weekend. Attending the Deadmau5 concert at the Cosmopolitan, Paris revealed at the concert that she actually isn’t dead, just an occasional persona non grata.

Best Vegas-Related Reality TV Show Moment

The early ratings for The World According to Paris can charitably be described as “dismal,” but Paris Hilton did give us the top reality moment of the year.* She and then-boyfriend, former XS managing partner Cy Waits, released a little, er, tension at a club. Waits, fed up with Hilton waltzing in late and trying to kiss him, told the heiress, “I had a good life before you. … I want to be me, and I want to be by myself.” Then things got really juicy. “Get the fuck away from me.

    CyPris parting ways

    By Jason Scavone

Rumors started to circulate in the middle of last week that Paris Hilton and former XS/Tryst managing partner Cy Waits were having relationship troubles. If by “relationship troubles” you mean, “the relationship is over.” That’s pretty troubling, we suppose. US Weekly reported June 20 that the couple is definitely done, citing multiple inside sources. Hilton’s rep had no comment.

The sisters Hilton have a home

    By Jason Scavone

With XS off the table, Paris Hilton has apparently settled on her new spot. Hilton was with sister Nicky on June 11 at Marquee for friend Allison Melnick’s 40th birthday party. In fact, the last three times Paris was in town, she partied at Marquee (and Nicky was there without her on March 18). Paris hasn’t been spotted at a non-Marquee club since before the Cosmo spot opened, when she turned up at Pure on Dec. 14. Now all she has to do is not incur the wrath of Deutsche Bank, like she did with Steve Wynn.
