    By Jason Scavone

Eva Longoria's ever-shifting steakhouse/nightclub concept at Crystals, SHe, SHuttered suddenly on Saturday. Jonathan Fine, who owns PBR Rockbar at Planet Hollywood and Rockhouse at Palazzo, is said to have made an offer on the spot.

    SHe Ditches Nightclub

    By Jason Scavone

Well, that was fun while it lasted. Following a New Year’s Eve opening for the nightclub portion of SHe by Morton’s at Crystals, the club suddenly shuttered on February 21. It will be used as a special-events space moving forward, while the restaurant of the same name continues operations downstairs.

Well maybe Eva Longoria should take the hint. The SHe nightclub, above the Morton's-run restaurant of the same name, is already closed after a New Year's Eve debut. The spot will be repurposed as a special events space, which it was in a previous life for forerunner restaurant Beso after Eve shut down in July 2011. Guess we're just going through all sorts of interesting times for Crystals, no?

    What SHe’s Having

    By Xania V. Woodman

According to the lunar calendar, February ushers in the Year of the Snake, but Las Vegas is making an impressive argument for this being the Year of the Woman. Welcome SHe by Morton’s to the party, a steakhouse that celebrates the fairer sex in every way. Here, a fashion runway cuts a swath through the center of the restaurant; a makeup mirror is tucked into the dessert menu; a menu of “She Cuts” highlights the steaks fit for a queen; and a cocktail menu by SHe beverage director and nightclub GM Leah Benefiel has a lot of sexy, feminine appeal.

Eva Longoria may be the face of SHe, the “boutique steak house” with a feminine touch opening New Year’s Eve. But it’s chef Todd Mark Miller who’s responsible for keeping the ladies happy.

The New Kid on the Block: SHe by Morton’s

The female-focused concept in Crystals opens its doors New Year’s Eve in the space previously occupied by Beso Restaurant and Eve Nightclub. SHe is the product of a partnership between Landry’s (owners of Morton’s) and two of the original concept’s owners, Jonas Lowrance and actress Eva Longoria, and is managed by Epic Entertainment Group. As its sexually vague name hints, SHe promises a little something for everyone: theatrical elements, a fashion-show runway and chic dining in an art-deco décor do-over courtesy of Charles Doell.

  • The New Dinner Party

    By Xania V. Woodman

Studio 54’s VIP section routinely featured a room-service cart of sandwich and cookie platters back in 2002, the thought being, I guess, that if you fed us we would stay. (It worked.) Of course, there are much finer things on offer today for pre- and post-party dining on the Strip—First Food & Bar in the Palazzo, Rattlecan in the Venetian, Allegro in Wynn and Society Café in Encore.

“My most prized possession is my pool table. It was the first thing I purchased when I bought my home. I always wanted my own pool table and was excited when I got a house with a billiard room. I designed it myself, picking out what the legs would look like, what type of wood it is crafted of and the felt used. I usually use it twice a week. After a long day of work, I pour a glass of red wine and play. It calms me down after dinner, and it’s fun.”

    What SHe Said …

    By Deanna Rilling

If it was ever a question whether Las Vegas caters to women, let the speculation be officially put to rest with the announcement of SHe, the newest dining and nightlife destination at Crystals in CityCenter and one dedicated to, named for and all about the ladies.
