Hakkasan Spreads Opening DJ Love Over Three Weekends

The debut of Hakkasan Nightclub will take place over not one, but three weekends starting April 18—billed as Preview Weekend—and culminating the weekend of May 2—Fight Weekend, when Floyd Mayweather, Jr. takes on Robert Guerrero at the Grand Garden Arena on May 4. If you’re like us, you began having Electric Daisy Carnival withdrawal as soon as the last beat dropped. Thankfully, we can get our next neon fix Oct. 7 at the inaugural Las Vegas GlowRun. Insomniac Events, the folks responsible for EDC, has teamed up with Vegas Seven parent company WENDOH Media for the 7K race downtown, complete with runners decked out in illuminated costumes. Tijs Verwest is easily the world’s most notable DJ. He’s coming out with a line of headphones, starting his own recording label, Musical Freedom, and just launched a new Sirius XM channel called Club Life Radio during Ultra Music Festival. Tiësto, as the Dutchman is best known, has also just dropped his follow-up to his Las Vegas-inspired Club Life. Volume Two is clearly all about Miami, and though the sound is designed to transport you to South Beach’s uber-club LIV, Verwest gives Vegas Seven the dish on why this Wynn Resorts resident loves to play XS (next on July 6, Encore Beach Club July 7), his creative process and how a three-time world’s best DJ kicks back a little. Pool season starts with Pitbull

It was the start of Rehab’s ninth year at the Hard Rock Hotel, though, that went for the gusto. If by “gusto” you mean “Pitbull dressed like Neapolitan ice cream.” Which we do. The singer of, well, pretty much every club song ever, busted out a white shirt, white jacket, light pink pants and chocolate-brown shoes with matching belt for his performance April 22. All he was missing was a cone and a van following him around playing a jingle. Read more »
