Thursday, Aug. 15 This is your penultimate opportunity to catch a free movie at Town Square’s Movies in the Park series. This week’s flick is Madagascar 3, and the series concludes Aug. 22 with a showing of Hotel Transylvania. Movies start at sundown.
Shopping Artifact boutique is like nosing on Pinterest but in a real-life store. Owner Molly Gaddy-Walters’ mission is simple: to share her love of recycled, up-cycled and repurposed home furnishings, clothing and unique finds in one shop. After the success of her first store in the Market LV at Tivoli Village, a second location opened in May at Town Square to feed a broader audience. The new boutique welcomes more than 100 handpicked emerging designers with the same ethos. Expect to discover one-of-a kind pieces, but, most of all, prepare to be Read More
Much as we’d like to, we can’t give this award to the old Stoney’s as it doesn’t exist anymore. But we can say that we love what’s going on at the new Stoney’s Rockin’ Country in Town Square. Being just off Strip, it draws real locals who fall in for that beautiful pine dance floor, as well as for the variety of dances (two-step, swing, line and more), a dependable Thursday ladies night, free nightly dance lessons and the variety of music styles. We lost the Cowboy Arcade when we lost Stoney’s South Strip location, but we gained a place with that new-club Read More
Thursday, June 6 Summer may be brutal, but it does bring one distinct pleasure: the return of Town Square’s Movies in the Square. Catch a free flick at sundown every Thursday until Aug. 22 at Town Square Park. Tonight’s feature: Wreck-It Ralph.
The appeal of Town Square’s Meatball Spot is undeniable—pizza, salads and juicy meatballs any way you like ’em. And while the kiddies and ’tweens may enjoy the close proximity of a movie theater flanked by a candy shop and two fro-yo places, adults might prefer a babysitter and the proximity of Meatball Spot’s Read More
We’re sure those living in the Manhattan Condos facing the former Stoney’s location on Las Vegas Boulevard miss their rowdy neighbor—especially during National Finals Rodeo and Professional Bull Riders events—but those city slickers can still get their dose of Stoney Gray and Chris Lowden’s rockin’ country (as well as a little peace and quiet) now that the country megaclub has moved into a sprawling corner of Town Square with enough parking for the whole Read More
Opening the right concept in the right place at the right time won’t ensure success in the restaurant business. Add a talented, passionate chef the likes of Carla Pellegrino—who owns Bratalian in Henderson and recently got a divorce from Bacio at the Tropicana—and your chances suddenly go from very good to excellent. Max’s Menu Picks Beef meatballs, $6.95. Baby arugula salad, $5.95 (half), $9.95 (full). Pizzas, $9.95 (half tray), $14.95 (full Read More
The club sandwich may be the most difficult thing to make in a kitchen because of the intricate construction. There’s the matter of keeping three slices of Texas toast evenly spaced apart with layers of turkey, applewood-smoked bacon, avocado, lettuce and tomato—with some chipotle mayo thrown in for good measure—and then driving the toothpicks in straight to keep the towering sandwich upright. Ranch House Kitchen seems to have it down Read More

Openings, closings and festivals dominate my notepad this week. First off, Las Vegas Restaurant Week returns Aug. 27-Sept. 2, giving visitors and residents the opportunity to dine at top restaurants for a set price, with part of the proceeds going to a worthy cause, the Three Square Food Bank. Participating restaurants create menus at price points from $20 to $50. Visit HelpOutDineOutLV.org for the venues and Read More
